HSBC going green

by isleofman.com 18th January 2007
HSBC’s annual sale has ‘gone green’ for 2007, giving customers the chance to make the most of great deals and discounts on a whole range of products up until January 31 - and help the environment at the same time.

HSBC has linked with environmental charities the Climate Group, Botanic Gardens Conservation International, Earthwatch Institute and ENCAMS, which runs the Keep Britain Tidy campaign.

For every on-sale product sold the bank will contribute ?2 to a fund that will be distributed among the four partners, with the aim of raising the grand total of ?1 million.

Mike Hennessy, area manager for HSBC in the Isle of Man said: ‘HSBC’s sale has always been a big hit with our customers and the range of deals we are offering in the 2007 Green Sale has something for almost everyone shopping for finances in the New Year.

‘We are also very excited about the fundraising component of the Sale.
HSBC has a long-standing commitment to the environment, and we continue to explore new ways of providing support.

‘As well as supporting some very important environmental causes, the 2007 sale gives us the opportunity to raise awareness of environmental issues among our staff and customers.’
