Cav shines at Revolution

by isleofman.com 21st January 2007
Commonwealth Games Gold medal winner Mark Cavendish showcased his skills to a capacity crowd at the Manchester Velodrome last night.

The Laxey rider produced a superb performance to win the Scratch Race at the Revolution meeting, the same event he won in Melbourne last March.

The T-Mobile rider also finished second in the Points Race and third in the Madison with Ed Clancy.

Disappointment for young rider Mark Christian though - he failed to win the Future Stars series, despite holding a narrow lead going into the final races.

Over in Los Angeles, Jonny Bellis made his Great Britain debut at a round of the Track World Cup. He was selected as one of the four riders in the Team Pursuit, in which G.B. finished in fourth place.
