A conference to introduce the newly formed "Isle of Man Aerospace Cluster” is to be held on February 21st.
It will outline the concept, what it stands for and how it can assist businesses.
Its estimated there are something like twenty firms on the Island who would be inside this " envelope"
At this first event, in the Garden Room at the Sefton Hotel, key note speeches will be delivered by the Executive Director of the North West Aerospace Alliance (NWAA) supported by presentations by Chris Corlett, DTI CEO and Chris Allen, General Manager of Smiths Aerospace.
Also invited are representatives from all associated businesses and service providers, educational heads and operational members of manufacturers, not just CEO’s and MD’s. The long term plan is to hold at least 3 events per year.
The Cluster committee will work on a day to day basis to create networking opportunities, tackle common issues and ultimately market the Isle of Man as a world class aerospace manufacturing centre.
The closing thanks will be from David Cretney MHK, the new DTI Minister.
