No Race Walking at 2010 Commonwealth Games

Race Walking has been dropped from the next Commonwealth Games in India.

Delhi is to host the event in 2010 and full details of the scheduled sports are now becoming known.

Walking has been left out because declining numbers over the last three Games in Kuala Lumpur, Manchester and Melbourne.

In addition, all diving and sycronised swimming has been axed from the Aquatics programme, Cycling will lose the Women's Track sprint and 500m time trial, and shooting will be minus all pairs events in pistol, small bore and Women's clay target pairs events.
