NETeller cash woes

by isleofman.com 1st February 2007
Several websites covering e-gaming are starting to complain that NETeller, based here in the Island, isn’t returning customer’s money quickly enough.

The company has pulled out of the American market following the arrests of two of its founders, and is trying to return cash to punters.

NETeller works as an online wallet – you transfer money into your account and use that to pay for services, usually e-gaming.

But since the two arrests, the company has stopped taking money from the US and is trying to refund all monies held, which could amount to billions of dollars.

However, one website says some customers have been told the process could take as long as six months.

The situation isn’t helped by the fact no American bank or credit card company will now deal with NETeller as they could be implicated in illegal gambling.

NETeller is said to be trying to work out a deal with the US Department of Justice to return the cash.
