A communications satellite launched by an Isle of Man company has completed its testing and is now operational.

AMC-18 has completed a full battery of in-orbit-tests and is now operational from its assigned orbital location of 105 degrees West.

The hi-tech piece of kit was procured by SES Global Satellite Leasing Ltd., based in Athol Street in Douglas.

It will be operated and marketed by SES AMERICOM to supply TV signals to Central America.
