Curphey's supernova

by isleofman.com 5th February 2007
25 year old Richard Curphey claimed Saturday's Black Horse Forest Stages Rally and his first rally victory.

The Vauxhall Nova driver took advantage after the retirements of several top crews including reigning Manx champion Noel Kelly, with son James on the notes, Andy Glaister and Chris Boyde and Donny Gill and Rob Clague.

Liverpool crew Malcolm and Richard Mawdsley set the fastest time on the final stage to snatch second place by virtue of count-back after tying with Mark Cubbon and Jonathan Turnbull.
