Bacchas' extend lead

by isleofman.com 17th February 2007
Bacchas A maintained their 100 per cent record at the top of DeanWood men’s Division One in emphatic fashion on Saturday.

They thrashed newly promoted Vikings B 8-0, led by a Karl Moore hat-trick, a Dave Kneale double and goals from Richard Le Page, Jamie Cox and James Wright.

And with reigning champions Valkyrs A not in action for the second successive weekend, that extended Bacchas’ lead in Division One.

Ramsey A overcame a spirited Valkyrs B side 4-2, courtesy of goals from Ollie Webster (two), Dan Stevenson and Ben Curtis.

In the only other game in men’s Division One, Vikings A romped to a surprisingly one-sided victory against Bacchas B – Paul Kelly (two), Dave Millward (two), Simon Foster, Andrew Harding and Simon Harding the scorers in a 7-0 romp.

In women’s Division One, league leaders Bacchas A continued their march to regaining the title with a 3-0 success against Castletown B – Sharon Pope, Sheena McKay and Niamh Goddard the scorers.

Phoenix performed well to hold Valkyrs A to a 2-2 draw and Castletown A defeated Vikings A by a solitary goal.
