Reigning champions Laxey and Peel kept alive their outside title hopes in OSA Division One on Saturday.
Peel had an excellent 3-2 success at St Mary’s and, just like in the Railway Cup semi-final meeting between the sides, Neil Birchenough was the hero.
He scored a brace with Kevin Megson also finding the net.
Lee Dixon (pen) and the in-form Paul Wright were on target for the Saints.
Laxey won by the same scoreline but were pushed all the way at home to Gymns.
A Chris Brown double and Jim Travers were the Miners’ marksmen with Peter Dunn and Neil Teare (pen) finding the net for battling Gymns.
Rushen remain in fourth place and they moved Marown ever closer to Division Two.

Bragging rights in the north went to Ayre United after a 3-1 win at Ramsey.
Darren Jones, Johnny Cowley and Mark Hignett were the Tangerines’ goal-getters with Ryan Williamson the home scorer.
Colby consolidated fifth spot in CFS Division Two on Saturday.
A 4-3 win at the improving Ramsey Youth Centre was secured with goals from Mark Costello, Steven Leece, talented youngster Josh Kelly and James Collett.
Mark McClurg, Stephen Oates and David Cleator were on target for Youth Centre.
Malew’s improvement continued but they were pushed all the way by bottom club Jurby before winning 4-2 – Darryl Yardley (two), Jack Charmer and Adam Drewitt the scorers.
Two sides at the lower end of the table, Foxdale and Douglas and District
met at Billy Goat Park.
And it was one-way traffic with the home side recording a 6-0 win – Paul Crellin, Neil Dudley, Lee Gale (two), Steven Harvey and an own goal putting D&D to the sword.
