Yesterday saw the conclusion of the FPI Winter Walking League, with the sixth and final round taking place at the NSC.
The event saw the return of the experts, Peter Kaneen and Steve Partington.
It was Steve's first race walking event since the Commonwealth Games other than the Parish Walk and after sharing the lead for the opening laps Peter built up a decent gap to a record a tremendous time of 45.44.
Dave Mackey was the 10k winner of Round 6 on handicap, Vinny Lynch and Matthew Haddock finishing second and third respectively.
Enid Watson took first in the 5k race, with Richard Bell winning the 3k and Sinead Kaneen the 2k.
In the final standings, Kath Colquitt was the overall FPI Winter Walking League winner over the 10k distance, finishing ahead of Gordon Erskine and Diane Brown.
And Enid Watson's victory on Sunday was enough for her to claim top spot at 5k, with Andrew Boardman second and Miriam Kelly third.
