St George’s moved ever closer to their third championship in four years with a comprehensive 3-0 success at Rushen United on Saturday.
The Geordies overcame a tough test in style after goals from Martin Torr, Chris Bass junior and Sean Quaye moved them eight points clear at the top.
In the only other top-flight game to survive the weather, Ayre United and St Mary’s shared four goals at Andreas.
St Mary’s marksmen were Martin Reilly and Steven Priestnal with James Teare, along with an own goal, earning Ayre a point.
