Tour body challenges APD hike

A body representing tour operators is taking on the UK Government over the Air Passenger Duty.
Passengers flying to and from the Isle of Man were faced, at the start of this month, (February) with a doubling of APD. That had been announced by Gordon Brown just a few weeks before.

The Federation of Tour Operators says that, according to legislation, originally passed in 1944, the UK cannot impose charges purely for the right for entry to or exit from a country.
