Sister responds to Leece Lodge reopening

by isleofman.com 1st March 2007
The families of two teenage murder victims have expressed sadness at the decision to renovate cottages at Leece Lodge where the youngsters met their deaths.

Samantha Barton was found dead in one of them - the body of her friend George Green a short distance away.

Since their murders five years ago, relatives have called for the buildings to be demolished - and a memorial garden planted in their place.

But the authorities have announced that WON'T happen - instead they're to be renovated and used to house hospital staff during this year's TT.

Health Minister Eddie Teare (pictured) says he understands relatives' feelings, but there's a 'pressing need' for the accomodation.
