Top two win well

The top two in Manx hockey both won well on Saturday ahead of their clash next week.

Leaders Bacchas A were 6-2 winners against Vikings A, thanks to strikes from Jamie Cox, Glen Bloxham-Mundy, Karl Moore (two) and Andy Bridson (two).

Meanwhile, reigning champions Valkyrs A overcame a tricky test against Ramsey A with a 3-0 success – Jerry Quinn (two) and Rob Mylchreest the scorers.

Castletown A had an impressive 3-1 win against Bacchas B, while Vikings B edged out Valkyrs A 2-1.

In Walbrook Trustees women’s Division One, promising youngster Louise Corkill was the hero with a double as reigning champions and leaders Bacchas A won a tight battle with Vikings A 2-1.

Kim Carney notched the Vikings’ reply.

Bacchas’ nearest rivals, Valkyrs A, saw off Castletown by the same scoreline, courtesy of goals from Andrea Kneen and Steph Lace.

Sophie Faragher was on target for Town.
