Injury-hit Western Vikings produced a gritty show but still went down 31-5 at Vagabonds B in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield on Saturday.
Aaron Curphey gave Vikings the lead after just five minutes with a well taken try but Vagas replied quickly with tries from Josh Lees and Danny Williams.
As half time approached, Lees picked up his second which Williams converted to make it 17-5 at the break.
Vagas extended their lead early in the second half when Bob Nicholson was driven over from close range but, for the remainder of the second half, Vikings dominated play.
They spent a long period camped in Vagas’ 22 but were unable to cross the whitewash and eventually Vagas broke clear through Sean Hoppe, who ran the length of the field to score at the other end and put the game beyond doubt.
