Braddan’s relegation from OSA Division One was confirmed on Saturday.

A 4-1 home defeat by St Mary’s sealed the home side’s fate in the top-flight, just a year after their promotion.

The Saints made a superb start with a first minute goal but Braddan showed their qualities to equalise quickly through Wil Smith.

The home side battled well and the match could have gone either way until three goals in last 16 minutes from Peter Langridge and Steven Priestnal (two) gave St Mary’s the points and consigned Braddan to relegation.

Marown have seemed certain to join them for some time but still have a mathematical chance of survival, despite another defeat – 3-2 at Ayre United.

A Johnny Cowley hat-trick won the match for the home side.

Paul Bratty and James Mountain were on target for Marown but their determined display wasn’t enough to earn a point.

At the other end of the table, Peel moved up to second after a demolition job at home to Union Mills.

The 9-0 success moved them to within five points of leaders St George’s.

The westerners hit SEVEN in the second half.

Their marksmen were Kevin Megson (two), Nick Hurt (two), Tony Duggan, Neil Birchenough, Chris Hawke and Daniel Lace, who scored twice directly from corners.

There was a thriller at Tromode where Gymns and Rushen shared six goals.

And it was an excellent fightback from Rushen who were 3-1 behind at one stage.

Paul Jones (two), Neil Curphey were the southerners’ scorers.

The in-form Liam Harrison was among the scorers as St John’s thrashed Ramsey 4-1 at Mullen-e-Cloie.
