It's St Mary's v Peel in FA Cup Final

by isleofman.com 24th March 2007
Peel and St Mary's will meet in the Cu Plas FA Cup Final on Easter Monday.

St Mary’s clinched their place in the showpiece of the season after a 2-1 victory over league leaders St George’s at the Bowl, while Peel ended the brave run of Second Division Pulrose with a 1-0 victory at Groves Road.

The Saints defeated their old adversaries, missing the influential duo Chris Bass junior and Callum Morrissey, with goals from man of the match, the prolific Steven Priestnal.

Martin Torr replied for the Geordies.

Railway Cup winners Peel secured their place in the final but Pulrose nearly caused a shock against the westerners for the second successive season – Neil Birchenough’s 22nd minute goal enough to separate the sides.
