There were no shocks in the hockey cup quarter-finals on Saturday.
Ramsey A had an impressive 5-0 thrashing of a weakened Bacchas B, courtesy of goals from Mark Rimmer (two), Oillie Webster, Andy Burrows and Dan Stevenson.
Holders Bacchas A saw off lowly opposition in Valkyrs C 8-0 – Sean Corlett led the way with a hat-trick, while veteran Pete Duchars (two), Glen Bloxham-Mundy, Andy Whiting and Robin Perrie grabbed the others.
Castletown A overcame battling Vikings B 3-2, while league champions Valkyrs A saw off Vikings A 2-0 with strikes from Chris Thomas and Gerry Quinn.
In the women’s cup, dominant force Bacchas A thrashed Ramsey A 8-1.
A Donna Harrison treble, plus goals from Sharon Pope, Niamh Goddard, Carly Craig, Sandra Leeming and Cath Griffiths, secured the success.
Lois Watterson scored twice to fire Castletown B to a 2-1 success over Vikings B, for whom Rebecca Frear found the net, while Vikings A were given a scare by Castletown A before winning on penalties.
The match had ended 3-3 with Jan Carney, Zoe Carney and Danielle Colley the Vikings’ scorers.
