Kosovan referee pays Island visit

A football referee from Kosovo is officiating at several friendly matches over the Easter holiday.

The visit of Amir Lamaxhema has come about following an appeal for kit for impoverished Kosovan teams on a website.

The Isle of Man Referees Society responded with a collection and delivery of kit.

Amir kept in touch with the Society and even asked to become a member!

And now his dream of visiting the Island has come true.

Amir has been telling Manx Radio about his playing days in Kosovo, during the recent troubles.

He says the Serbs banned everything, including football (audio file attached):
