Women perform well in Malta

by isleofman.com 18th April 2007
Team Isle of Man women's cycling successfully competed in the 14th
edition of the international Tour of Malta stage race. Teams from Germany,
Holland, Italy, Malta, the UK and Ireland along with the Isle of Man
were invited to the 2007 event.

The 3 days of competition covered some very
demanding terrain proving to be well worth the travel involved. The
event was won by Germanys Desiree Schuler.

Best placed local was Cayley Ennett securing 9th place overall,
including a 4th place in the opening 30km time-trial on a very exposed
coastal course.
Natalie Arrowsmith, in her first Island team ride, gained 16th place
overall with solid performances each day.
Fellow team member Caroline
O'Neill achieved a well deserved 18th place overall with some very
determined riding.
