Bacchas A are celebrating after retaining the women’s Division One hockey title.
A goal from Carly Lace sparked the title celebrations and earned the club a 1-0 victory over Castletown A to confirm their continued dominance of women’s hockey.
In the division’s other games, Valkyrs A produced a superb comeback to defeat rivals Vikings A 3-2.
Mary Rowe and Kim Carney were on target for battling Vikings to give them a 2-0 lead, but Lynn Brew, Kelly Shimmin and Emma Faulkner found the net for Valkyrs to seal a fine victory.
Denise Foxton and Ali Hurd were the scorers as Harlequins A edged out Phoenix A 2-1.
Julie Evans was the Phoenix scorer.
Amy Kneale (two), Amy Scullen, Ali Breen and Anna Pugh ensured Ramsey A had a memorable finish to the season with a 5-0 win against Castletown B.
In men’s Division One, Valkyrs A finished the league season on a high against the side which disposed them as champions.
They defeated Bacchas A 4-0, already crowned champions, courtesy of goals from Greg Miller, Gareth Morris and two from Vic Fearns.
In the top flight’s other games, two improved sides Ramsey A and Vikings A shared four goals apiece, while Bacchas B saw off Vikings B 3-1.
