Peel spot on

by isleofman.com 6th May 2007
Injured goalkeeper Kelvin Dawson was the hero as Peel beat St. Mary's in a dramatic penalty shootout to lift the F.A. Cup.

Dawson made two saves in the penalty decider, having gone into the match carrying a knock.

The game ended 1-1 after 90 minutes and stayed that way in extra-time.

For a large amount of the extra period of play, the westerners were down to ten players.

Manager Rick Holden had used all his allowed substitutes when centre-back Steven Corkill was strechered off.

He was taken by ambulance to Nobles Hospital for further treatment on an injured ankle.
