Cavendish third in Dunkirk stage

Manx cyclist Mark Cavendish won the bunch sprint to claim a superb third place on Stage Two of the Four Day Tour of Dunkirk in France yesterday.

Riding for his T-Mobile team, he finished 18 seconds behind the two riders who broke away from the peleton shortly after the start of the 191km stage.

The podium place for Cavendish has moved him up from 67th to 20th in the overall classification, 46 seconds behind the leader.
