Points win for Cavendish

by isleofman.com 14th May 2007
Manx cyclist Mark Cavendish took his second victory in the four-day Tour of Dunkirk on Sunday, and claimed the overall points win.

The 173 kilometres long final stage from Steenvoorde to Dunkerque saw five men try their luck, but they were reeled in by the pack with more than forty kilometres left to ride.

A bunch sprint decided the winner and it was Cavendish who turned out to have the strongest legs, beating Erik Zabel and Matthew Goss.

Mathieu Ladagnous of France won overall.
