Cav's Tour de France Ambition

by isleofman.com 16th May 2007
Isle of Man Sportsman of the Year Mark Cavendish is looking ahead to one day challenging for stage wins in the Tour de France.

Without completely ruling out an appearance this year, the Laxey cyclist has told Manx Radio he believes he is still too young to compete in the greatest cycle race of them all.

The T-Mobile rider's immediate target is a first ProTour event in Spain next week, but track gold at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, and sprint glory in the Tour de France, are longer term ambitions.

Mark says he's fully aware of, and delighted by, the big increased media attention on him following his recent victories in Belgium and France:-
