Patent office for Island?

The Department of Trade and Industry says it’s considering how the Island could join the intellectual property market.

Officials are considering whether to set up a patent office which could control intellectual properties such as trademarks and copyrights.

The moves have been announced after Liberal Vannin party leader Peter Karran asked for a patent office to be created.

Chris Corlett (pictured) of the DTI explained the office could mean more business for the Island:
