Kneen best of qualifiers

Chris Kneen got the best score of the day at the Manx Golf Championship Qualifiers on Sunday, played over 36 holes at Douglas Golf Club.

Kneen, who plays his golf at Castletown, produced a score of 133 to claim the William Woods and Graeme Cairns Trophy. Brian Duggan of King Edward Bay scored 134.

139: Paul Crellin (Peel), Jon Corke (Rowany), Richard Skillicorn (Douglas)

Julian Sutton's score of 136 won him the Bob Cowin Trophy, and Kevin Corlett produced the best nett score of the day over 36 holes.

Castletown A, made up of Julian Sutton, Mark Sutton, Andrew Challenor and Paul Lowey, won the Sandison Cup Team Prize with a combined score of 136.

The matchplay rounds start tomorrow (Tuesday) evening. The draw is as follows:
