Two hundred-thousand warning letters have been dispatched to people over unpaid taxes, highlighting the current partial amnesty being offered by HMRC to those owing money.
The partial amnesty ends on June 22, after which tax evaders could face large fines or criminal prosecution.
The letter is dated June 14 and is from David Hinstridge, the manager of HMRC Offshore Disclosure Arrangements Project.
So far about 8,000 people have taken advantage of the amnesty.
