The 'new boys on the block' in mobile phone network terms have significant announcements to make this week.

Cable and Wireless have now pushed out details of their 'Sure' mobile business tariff as their store in Strand Street opens for business.

They put their objectives in this tariff as simplicity, flexibility real choice and value.

At the same time, Cloud9 will have their network launch on Thursday with what, they term, their 'liquid tariff' providing, they say, 'a new level of flexibility'.

Manx Telecom, the incumbent service, say that from July 1 it will be free to receive calls on their 'pay as you go' mobiles when visiting the United Kingdom or Ireland.

They say the new arrangement will give excellent value for money this summer and will enable friends and family to keep in touch when they are away from the Island.
