Manx passengers have been meeting the new security turnstiles at Liverpool's John Lennon Airport.
But it may only mean a 'fast track' charge.
Liverpool, run by the Peel Group which is owned by Malew billionaire John Whittaker, flagged up its plan to levy a charge after saying the ?3 million annual cost for security measures could not be absorbed in their costs.
The gates are now in place, splitting passengers into two groups though no charge is being made as yet.
We are still trying to get the official line but reports suggests that normal clearance will be free of charge, while fast track will mean a ?2 charge.
