MGM Mirage says it’s considering re-entering the online gaming industry if America passes laws to regulate it rather than outlaw it.
The company’s Senior Vice President, Alan Feldman, is backing the Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act which is being discussed by the US government.
MGM set up a casino in the Isle of Man in 2001 but the venture failed after two years because the company couldn’t accept American business.
But if the new law was passed he says the company would enter the market again as soon as possible.
However, there’s no possibility of setting up in the Isle of Man again as the point of the bill is to force operators to remain in the US.
