Manx team 6th overall

The Isle of Man finished in 6th place in the medals table at the 2007 Nat West Island Games.

In a sometimes controversial week of competition, Manx athletes claimed a total of eleven golds, 15 silvers and 26 bronze medals.

The highlight of the final day was a "one-two-three" for the Isle of Man in the rifle shooting.

On Manx Radio this evening Sports Editor Tim Glover ran through all the medal winners for the Manx team, starting with the ones who struck gold (audio file attached):

The top 10 Islands in the final medal table were: 1, Jersey (30 gold; 35 silver; 27 bronze); 2, Faroe Islands (24; 19; 12); 3, Guernsey (23; 23; 29); 4, Gotland (23; 21; 10); 5, Rhodes (22; 14; 16); 6, Isle of Man (11; 15; 26); 7, Menorca (11; 9; 10); 8, Cayman Islands (11; 7; 5); 9, Bermuda (8; 13; 19); 10, Aland (7; 8; 10).
