Revamped rally adds to spectator appeal

by isleofman.com 7th July 2007
The organisers of Rally Isle of Man 2007 say the revamped opening night of action will make the event more spectator friendly.

Several innovations will take the Total Rally closer to the public.

The three day event will begin on July the 19th at 6pm when leading drivers will head to Loch Promenade in Douglas for an autograph session.

Among the top names expected are Manxmen Mark and David Higgins, last year's winner Eugene Donnelly, teenage Norwegian sensation Andreas Mikkelsen and Swedish world championship driver Oscar Svedlund.

There’ll then be an extra chance to see the crews close-up in the expanded traditional Thursday night stage through the streets of Castletown, while drivers will have the new challenge of running in the opposite direction to usual for the first time!
