An attempt to have the salary of the chairman of the Pensions and Insurance Authority re-examined has been rejected by Tynwald
Having failed last month to obtain support for the membership of the IPA, Treasury Minister Allan Bell brought the issue back with the same nominees.

The move to have the ?20,000 per year salary to be reassessed was made by Malew and Santon MHK Graham Cregeen.
In support, South Douglas member Bill Malarkey suggested that based on the number of meetings held last year ?2,500 per meeting was being earned.
Chief Minister Tony Brown was quick to emphasises that the IPA is vitally important for the Island internationally and for the quality of the Island's reputation.
Mr Bell pointed out that the chairman in Jersey earns ?45,000 per year, twice the Isle of Man's figure
Tynwald approved the membership of the IPA under chairmanship of former Chief Minister Donald Gelling.
