Big rise in bank deposits

by isleofman.com 20th July 2007
The annual report of the Financial Supervision Commission notes that over the last three years bank deposits have swelled by over 40%, to ?43 billion

Funds under management and administration have more than trebled over the same period to ?45 billion, and last year 3,465 companies were incorporated, the highest figure since 1999.

A further 722 companies were incorporated under the Companies Act 2006, the new vehicle which came in effect at the end of last year.

That, and over 20 years of continuous growth on the Island, is the backdrop to the latest report from the FSC, and its CEO John Aspden (pictured).

At the same time it's noted that the IMF is expected to arrive next year to run its regular rule over regulation.
