The Isle of Man Under-19 team has made a great start to the European Division Two Championship in Jersey.
On Monday, they defeated one of the favourites Israel by 3 wickets in a nail-biting finish.
Put into bat, Israel made 151 for 8 in 50 overs. Best of the bowlers was Danny Kniveton with 5 wickets for 20 runs from his 10 overs.
In reply, the Island made a solid start with openers Max Stokoe and Andrew Turner compiling a stand of 43. However, the middle order got bogged down and it was left to Richard McGarry to boost the run rate. He hit a quick-fire 18 which included 2 fours and a six.
Bringing the side home was Danny Kniveton with a superb 38 not out to complete a fine individual performance.
The Manx won by 3 wickets with 1 over remaining. Today (Tuesday) they play Germany.
