The positive charge given the Island through the Centenary TT is underlined by a 15 per cent jump in the totals for both June and, indeed, the year to date in passenger numbers.
Passengers for June are listed at 101,000 and vehicles 41,400.
That’s a 15 per cent rise in passengers and a remarkable 27 per cent up for vehicles.
In passenger numbers, that compares with 87,500 passengers last June.
The year overall shows 299,240 passengers and 104,572 vehicles.
That’s up 15.4 per cent and 26.7 per cent respectively.
Director of Harbours, Captain Michael Brew, says the June figures show the impact of this year’s TT and continues the positive growth seen this year.
