Kaneen takes bronze

Manx Harriers' walker Peter Kaneen claimed a bronze medal in the A.A.A. 5km Track Championships in Manchester at the weekend.

The televised event was also a trial for the World Championships which will be held in Osaka in Japan.

Peter finished in a time of of 22 minutes and 55 seconds, 43 seconds behind the second placed walker, Ben Wears from Redcar. The event was won by Dominic King from Colchester in a time of 20 minutes 57.90 seconds.

Though no race walkers from Britain have qualified for Osaka, the Isle of Man will be represented by Steve Taylor on the race walking judges panel.
