Woody Harrelson’s back in action in the Manx-shot film The Walker – which is either sleep-inducing tosh or an impressive labour of love, depending on which reviewer you believe.

The movie is set in Washington, and tells the story of a society escort who tries to cover up for one of his high-society ladies when he inadvertently takes her to a murder scene.

The critics have been sharply divided between those on the side of the Times, which gave it four stars and calls it “electric”.

Less kind are those who side with the Daily Mail, which calls it “pompous, pretentious and pedestrian”.
