Cricketers through to Finals

by isleofman.com 23rd August 2007
The Isle of Man Senior side were more than happy to sit in the pavilion yesterday, watching the torrential rain in Belgium at the European Division Three Championships.

After two victories over the hosts and Malta earlier in the week, the final Group B contest with Cyprus was washed out. This means the Manx top the qualifying standings and progress to the semi-finals.

Today (Thursday), they meet Spain in the last four at Antwerp - the other match pits Malta against Croatia.

Early reports from the ground say the rain is once again falling heavily, with any play today unlikely. The weather forecast for tomorrow and Saturday is for sunshine, so the semi may get switched to Friday, with the Final going ahead to schedule on Saturday.
