Race appeal upheld

by isleofman.com 31st August 2007
Keith Costello has successfully appealed against the result in this afternoon's ultra-lightweight 400cc event in the Manx Grand Prix.

He lost third place to Joe Phillips when race organisers only counted the opening three out of four laps, after deteriorating conditions led to the race being 'red flagged' when only a handful of competitors had finished.

However, his appeal has been upheld and his podium position confirmed.

Sam Dunlop won the 250 lightweight event, one minute and 12 seconds ahead of second placed Neil Kent, with Brian Mateer coming in third.

Oliver Linsdale cruised to victory in the ultra-lightweight, with Tim Sayers the runner up.
