by isleofman.com 3rd September 2007
There were big shocks in the semi-finals of cricket's League Cup on Sunday.

Champions Castletown were beaten by Ramsey and Cronkbourne defeated St Johns at Mullen-e-Cloie.

Russell Miller was the hero for Ramsey. In an incredible spell he took 8 wickets for 7 runs to destoy 'town. The southerners only made 89 with Garreth Morris top scoring on 35. However, it wasn't easy for the Ramsey batsmen. They lost 6 wickets getting the runs: Ollie Webster made 37 and Jamie Moffat hit 27. Garreth Roome took 4 for 28 and Andy Sewell had 2 for 40.

Cronkbourne made a good 189 for 8 from their 50 overs against St Johns. Max Stokoe cracked 68 and Steve Slack 36. Greg Hawke returned 4 for 35.

Heavy rain cut short the St Johns innings and they were left with a target of 132 from 32 overs. They looked in control at 60 for 3 but then Max Stokoe took control. With some fine bowling he took 6 for 21 and the Saints collapsed to 102 all out. Nick Hawke batted well for 39.

The final of the League Cup will be played on Sunday September the 9th
