The Government has now put in for planning for the marina in Peel.

It is, in most of its essentials, the same as that publicised some time ago, barring a few "tweeks" to the shape of infrastructure.

The Harbours Division are going for the same 124 berths, a boatpark and maintenance area, a new toilet and shower block and more parking.
Transport minister David Anderson will ask the Autumn Tynwald for the ?2.6 millions needed.

They have still to solve the problems caused when an untimely and vigorous downpour forced the Harbours Division to cut away part of the " trap" upstream on the Neb" to stop stuff floating down into the harbour.
Such was the amount of debris and logs that arrived that it caused the banks to overflow and the cutting away of so called " sacrificial bars" stopped an inundation of nearby properties.

With a marina in place it will be more important to keep as much debris as possible out of the haven area.
