Seven games off as Ref crisis grows

by isleofman.com 19th September 2007
Seven of Saturday's Football fixtures have been postponed due to the shortage of referees.

It brings the total number of senior fixtures already postponed this season to 35.

Some of these came on a wet opening day of the season, but the majority are down to a lack of match officials.

Two of Isle of Man Football's top refs are not available this weekend as they have been appointed as Assistant Referees in an English F.A. Vase Second Round qualifying match.

Gareth Jones and Tony McMeiken will officate at the Runcorn Linnets v Daisy Hill tie.

The seven matches off this Saturday are:-

SURE MOBILE COMBINATION 1
Douglas Royal v Union Mills
Old Boys v Gymns
Corinthians v Ayre

CFS COMBINATION 2
Michael v Castletown
Douglas & District v Ramsey Youth Centre
Foxdale v Police
and Marown v Pulrose

All of last Sunday's Under-15 Cup ties were called-off due to no referees being available.
