TT races at Billown?

by isleofman.com 24th September 2007
Two stroke machines could be set to make a TT comeback, but not on the Mountian Course.

The Department of Tourism and Leisure is understood to have asked the Southern 100 motor racing club to run 125 and 250cc classes as official TT races on the Billown Circuit, as part of next year's festival.

The Ultra Lightweight and Lightweight TT races were abandonned three years ago.

Discussions are said to be continuing after the news appeared on a number of unofficial TT websites at the weekend.

Some of the articles have since been withdrawn.

The DTL has confirmed the idea of holding TT races on an alternative course is under consideration, but says discussions are at an early stage.
