'Friend of the TT' passes away

A well known former rider is mourning the passing of a 'great friend of the TT'.

Nick Jefferies, who won the Formula One event in 1993, says the death of commentator Geoff Cannell is 'a big blow to the progress of the TT'.

Mr Jefferies is President of the TT Riders' Association (audio file attached):

Geoff Cannell died in Noble'e Hospital yesterday evening.

He was 65 and leaves a wife, Lynda, and a daughter, Zoe.
