The role of the Crown Dependencies in offshore trustee services is set to take a higher profile as STEP, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners announces that it is to hold its first ever Crown Dependencies Conference.
It will take place in London in March 2008. The Isle of Man, Jersey, and Guernsey branches of STEP will host the conference jointly.
Meanwhile delegates from the Island’s leading trust and corporate service providers have come together at their annual conference at the Mount Murray Hotel. The conference, which was sponsored by Equiom Trust Company, is a highlight of the sector’s calendar, and provides a unique forum for discussion and debate.
John Rimmer, Partner at Dickinson Cruickshank, and Chairman of STEP’s Isle of Man branch, said, “We have been extremely fortunate to attract a very strong line up of speakers, the majority of whom are from leading firms of solicitors, accountants and trust companies in the UK and Europe. It’s a great opportunity for Isle of Man members to hear at first hand of the latest developments in legal, regulatory, and tax issues which relate to trusts. It’s a tremendous education, training and networking forum”.
