A Castletown commissioner has welcomed news that organisers of the TT are considering re-introducing two-stroke races on the Billown circuit.
Talks are underway to run 125 and 250 cc classes down south, in what would be the first change of venue for a TT race in 96 years.
If they went ahead, the lightweight events would be part of the post-TT action at Billown.
At this week’s board meeting Richard Ronan said, while he realised it was only an idea at the moment, such a decision would be wonderful for Castletown and the south of the Island.
He said it was clear testament to the Southern 100 team for all its hard work that such an idea was being considered.
