TT Marshals Chairman resigns

by isleofman.com 8th October 2007
The Chairman of the Isle of Man TT Marshals Association has resigned.

Roger Hurst told Manx Radio his decision is for 'personal reasons' and he has no further comment to make at this time.

Mr Hurst's wife, Janet, has also stepped down.

It has been a difficult year for the association with two marshals injured during the Senior TT, which led to a police manslaughter investigation into the fatal crash and subsequently a shortage of volunteers for the Manx Grand Prix.

Text version:
The TT Marshals Association says following a meeting on October the 4th, they now have letters of resignation from the Chairman, Roger Hurst, and the Secretary, Janet Hurst. These were both with immediate effect.

The directors of the association are expressing their thanks and appreciation for the many years of hard work and commitment that both Roger and Jan have given.

The association is holding its AGM, provisionally on November the 2nd, when it hopes to fill the vacant positions.
