Douglas stay on top

by isleofman.com 20th October 2007
Douglas maintained their position at the top of EuroManx South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Three with a hard fought 21-5 home win over fellow promotion hopefuls Trentham.

A first half try from Ryan Maddox, plus a penalty from Bryn Snellgrove, gave Douglas an 8-5 half time lead.

Snellgrove added another penalty early in the second half and a Geoff Miles try extended their lead to a comfortable 16-5.

In the closing stages, Douglas replacement Lee Illott picked up a red card for some illegal footwork but the home side closed the game out with a late try to keep their unbeaten position at the top of the table.
